Katelyn- OOB Senior

Last Sunday I had the task of doing senior portraits in the Laurel Hill Cemetery. I'm not a huge fan of the cemetery only because it's just so overdone. When people think photos in this locale, they automatically think cemetery. I'll admit that it does have some nice areas and such but everyone shoots these same exact locations and I mean everyone. That being the case, everyone has very similar photos on their walls, mantles, window sills, end tables, etc. and the location is easily identifiable.

So, I had to challenge myself. I needed to shoot at the cemetery without it looking like I shot at the cemetery. This isn't as simple as you might think but hopefully you'll find that I achieved this goal for the most part.

In the end, all that matters is that the customer is happy with the results which I'm hopeful is the case here. Katelyn seemed a little apprehensive about the ordeal to begin with but she's really a natural in front of the camera and made my job easy. I'd welcome her in front of my lens anytime!

Big thanks to Peter for the lighting assist. Having a human light stand makes things go much smoother and quicker.
