This was my first stop on my way home for the Portland Head Light meetup yesterday morning. It was still early in the day so I thought I'd take some extra time and get some more shooting in. I stopped at the path on Pine Point Rd. just beyond the marsh. There isn't a whole lot to go on when the flowers aren't blooming, the birds aren't around and the sun isn't setting.
Most photographers insist on not shooting during the harsh sunlight hours. I tend to look the monster right in the eye and put it to good use by embracing it. I love getting sunbursts and making them work for me. It think it adds to what can sometimes be a boring composition. When else will you get such dramatic shadows?! That or maybe I just don't know any better. :)
