Since my wife was 11, her grandfather bought her a bear each Christmas. This tradition continued for 16 years. He would remind her grandmother several times during the shopping season to buy it for her and not stop till it was purchased. Even last year, as he was suffering from illness, he still asked her about it. He was just as excited to give them as she was to receive them. This year, Meghan's parents wanted to honor the tradition that he started so long ago.
I took this in honor of dear Whiskers. She passed away this year at age 15. She was a birthday present to Meghan in the 7th grade.
