Portsmouth Criterium 2011

I spent last Sunday down in Portsmouth for the annual Portsmouth Criterium. The crowds were smaller than usual for some reason even though it was a beautiful day. This allowed me to find some pockets and shoot from further away with a tele for some nicely compressed images though.

As is always the case with this race, they ran it in the wrong direction in my mind. The sun is always at the cyclists backs in key areas of the course which just bathes them in shadows for most of the course. It would make life much easier if their faces were lit. So, I decided that I'd try and play with the shadows this year and find pockets of light that I could use.
