Head Light

Yesterday I got up and out of the house at the break of dawn. I made my way up to Portland Head Light for a little Flickr photography meetup. It was nice to get out to meet some peeps and shoot the breeze. I didn't get a whole lot of shooting in- in fact I never even made it over TO the lighthouse which means I've still never been up close to it. Maybe next time. I wasn't there for the actual sunrise and there were no clouds to be seen which unfortunately didn't help in the drama department. Here is the best I could do:

  1. You're right about the lack of clouds and missing the sunrise, it was a bit of a disappointment, but you must be well happy with these shots. There's impressive dynamic range in every one without overdoing the effect. And you've enviable skills with both the composition and the processing. Congrats!

  2. Hi Gwyn,

Thank you for stopping by and also for the kind words. You're right about processing. It's always a fine between overdoing things and getting it right. This was my first meetup and I look forward to attending more in the future.
